Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

1. High school diploma or equivalent.2. Any one or combination totaling six (6) years (72 months) from the categories below:
A. Coursework in business, dietetics, culinary arts, food science, nutrition, hospitality, hotel, catering, restaurant, or institutional management, or a closely related field as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
90 semester hours equals two (2) years (24 months)
Bachelor's Degree (120 semester hours) equals three (3) years (36 months)
B. Food service management work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, food service management, nutrition, business administration or a related field.
Two years of experience in marketing and promotions, especially in a food service environment.
Familiarity with USDA guidelines and CACFP meal requirements.
Skill in planning, communication, and organizational leadership.
Experience managing multiple teams or units with extended or staggered operations.

Illinois Residency Requirement: Pursuant to the State Universities Civil Service System, out-of-state candidates must establish Illinois residency within 180 calendar days of the start date for this position.

Illinois residency requires proof of a valid Illinois Driver’s License or state of Illinois ID Card. Failure to produce the required documentation within 180 calendar days is grounds for immediate separation.
