Privacy Policy

EduJobs, LLC runs edujobs.org, a job board for schools, districts, charter networks and colleges. This policy explains what we collect when you use it, why, who sees it, and the choices you have. It applies to the website, the EduJobs mobile app, and the emails we send.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Account details. Your email address, name, and password (stored as a hash), or the profile Google returns if you sign in with Google.
• Job seeker profile and documents. Resumes, cover letters and other files you upload, the text we extract from them so they can be searched and previewed, your job preferences, saved jobs, and the applications you submit through EduJobs.
• Job alerts. The email address and search criteria you give us so we can send matching postings.
• Employer accounts. Your name, work email, organization details, the jobs you post, and how you handle applications. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store card numbers.
• Messages. Anything you send through the contact form, a claim request, or a careers application.

Information collected automatically

• Usage. Pages viewed, searches run, which listings were shown to you, and which listings you opened or clicked through to an employer. We record this to keep the board working and to tell employers how their postings perform in aggregate.
• Device and connection. IP address, browser type, operating system, and the referring page, in standard server logs.
• Cookies. The cookies needed to keep you signed in, protect forms, and remember display preferences, plus one first-party analytics cookie. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. See the Cookie Policy.

Job postings

Most postings on EduJobs are listings that employers have published on their own careers pages. We show the posting, name the employer, and send you to the employer's own system to apply. The posting is the employer's; if one is out of date or wrong, tell us at hello@edujobs.org.

How we use it

• To run the service: search, alerts, applications, employer workspaces, and billing.
• To send the email you asked for: alert digests, application confirmations, account messages.
• To deliver your application and documents to the employer you applied to.
• To keep the site secure and stop abuse, including bot protection on forms.
• To understand how the board is used, in aggregate, and improve it.
• To meet legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell personal information and we do not show advertising.

Who we share it with

• Employers you apply to. They receive your application, your documents, and your contact details, and handle them under their own policies.
• Service providers that process data on our behalf: Supabase (database and sign-in), Amazon Web Services (file storage), Vercel (hosting), Typesense (search index), Mailgun (email delivery), Stripe (payments for employers), Cloudflare Turnstile (bot protection), Google Maps Platform (location search), PostHog (product analytics), Sentry (error reporting), and Trigger.dev (scheduled jobs). When an employer uses an AI drafting feature, the text they type is processed by the AI provider to produce the draft.
• Legal reasons. When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users, employers, or EduJobs, LLC.
• A change of ownership. If EduJobs, LLC is acquired or merges, your information may transfer with it, under this policy.

How long we keep it

• Account information for as long as your account exists. You can delete your account in Settings.
• Documents until you delete them or delete your account.
• Applications stay with the employer's workspace as part of their hiring record.
• Job alerts until you unsubscribe. An alert that is never confirmed is deleted after 14 days.
• Listing impressions and server logs on a rolling basis.

Your choices

• Update or delete profile details and documents in your account.
• Pause or stop any job alert from the link in every alert email.
• Delete your account from Settings, or from the mobile app.
• Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, at hello@edujobs.org.

If you live in a US state with a consumer privacy law, you have rights to access, correct, delete, and receive a copy of your personal information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising them. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise a right, email us; we will verify the request against your account.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to what each part of the service needs, and documents are served through short-lived signed links. No system is perfectly secure; if you believe your account has been compromised, contact us at once.

Children

EduJobs is for people seeking or offering employment. It is not directed to anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

Where data is processed

EduJobs, LLC is based in the United States and processes data there. If you use the service from elsewhere, your information is transferred to the United States.

Changes

When this policy changes, we update the effective date above. A material change will also be announced on the site or by email.
