Adjunct, Business: Introductions to Data Analytics for Business

Broad Function

SUNY Adirondack is a teaching- and learning-centered community college that fosters a diverse and equitable learning environment for students of all ages, backgrounds, goals, and learning styles. Major Responsibilities

Adjuncts are assigned a maximum of 9 credit hours and are responsible for all aspects of the courses assigned.

Introduction to Data Analytics for Business: This course introduces students to the data analytics tools and techniques used in modern business decision-making, giving students a practical, career-ready foundation in working with and interpreting business data.

• Develop or adapt course content, syllabus, and assignments aligned with department learning outcomes.
• Teach foundational data analytics concepts: data cleaning, visualization, and business-decision applications using toolssuch as Excel and/or Power BI/Tableau.
• Deliver engaging, real-world instruction connecting data analytics to actual business scenarios.
• Respond to student inquiries in a timely manner.
• Evaluate student work and submit grades according to college deadlines.
• Comply with SUNY Adirondack policies, including those on academic integrity, accessibility, and syllabus requirements.

Required Skills

• Professional experience working with business data or analytics
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with data analytics/visualization tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar)
• Prior college-level teaching experience

Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field is required. Master's degree in a related field is preferred.

SalaryAdjuncts’ salary is based on the number of credit hours per semester, remunerated at the rate of $1,285 per credit hour.Employment Type
