Clerk - Attendance/Receptionist (HS: 2026-2027)

POSITION TITLE: Receptionist - Attendance Clerk for the 2026-2027 School Year
POSITION DETAILS: 188 Days - Salary Schedule: C3
LOCATION(S): Adairsville HS
START DATE: as soon as possible

• JOB DESCRIPTION:
• Maintain records for student attendance, check outs, etc.
• Determines appropriate processes for documenting absences in system for school and district level documentation
• Supports office staff in answering phones, greeting guests, and working with students to properly admit and document the attendance for enrollment purposes
• Maintains accurate records of parent notification of absence and tardies
• Alerts principal and school counselor of excessive tardies and/or absences
• Maintains prompt and regular attendance
• Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION OR TRAINING: Minimum of high school diploma or GED; Strong organization skills; Strong computer skills – entry, database, spreadsheets; Excellent communications skills – oral and written; Customer service orientation in communicating with all stakeholders in person and on the phone.

SKILLS: Treats confidential information and sensitive situations with discretion; Ability to work in a hectic environment; Presents a professional image when representing BCSS through word, action and dress; Physical activities required to perform all job duties to include standing and/or sitting for long periods of time.

EXPERIENCE: Previous secretarial experience preferred.
