Job Title: Substitute Nurse

Exemption Status/ Test: Non-exempt

Reports to: Principal

Department/ School: Assigned Campus(es)

Minimum Salary: $85/day (LVN); $95/day (RN)

Primary Purpose:

Perform the duties for substitute nursing as assigned by the principal

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Licensed LVN or RN

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to understand detailed written or oral instructions

Ability to communicate effectively

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

Experience:

None

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform the duties of the job position
• Notify the school office of any serious problems
• Follow as closely as you can to the schedule of job
• Complete taskes left for you by staff or professional in charge
• Record information for the returning employee
• Abide by substitute policies
• Report on time, report for any assigned duty, and work through the end of the stated sub hours

Tools/ Equipment Used:

Personal computer, copier, and printer. You may need to be able to use specialized equipment related to students with assistive technology

Posture:

Standing for long periods of time, frequent stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing. Move small textbooks, media equipment, desks, and other classroom equipment. May require lifting up to 30 lbs.
