Assistant Bowling Coach

Position Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Assistant Bowling Coach to join our high school athletic program. Working directly under the Head Coach, you will help develop student-athletes' lane mechanics, mental strategy, and team dynamics while maintaining a supportive, disciplined culture compliant with OHSAA regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Technical Instruction: Assist in coaching fundamental and advanced bowling mechanics, including approach, release, lane play, oil pattern adjustments, and spare-conversion systems.
• Practice & Match Preparation: Help execute daily practice sessions, manage equipment (balls, shoes, bags), assist with lineup cards, and track scoring metrics during dual matches and tournaments.
• Sportsmanship & Strategy: Guide student-athletes in mental game management, team camaraderie, and respectful conduct on and off the lanes.
• OHSAA Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all OHSAA bowling rules, match limits, and student safety policies.
• Academic Oversight: Support student-athletes in maintaining academic eligibility and representing the school with integrity.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Previous high school, collegiate, or competitive league bowling/coaching experience.
• Valid (or ability to obtain) OHSAA Pupil Activity Permit (PAP), including:

• CPR/AED Certification
• First Aid for Coaches
• Concussion Training (NFHS / Ohio Dept. of Health)
• Sudden Cardiac Arrest (Lindsay’s Law) Training
• Student Mental Health Training

• Successful completion of FBI/BCI criminal background checks.
