JH Boys Basketball Coaches (2)

Position Overview We are seeking an enthusiastic Junior High Basketball Coach to lead our middle school student-athletes. This role focuses heavily on fundamental skill development, teaching core basketball concepts, and instilling good sportsmanship in a positive, supportive environment aligned with OHSAA middle school regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Fundamental Training: Teach foundational skills, including ball-handling, shooting mechanics, defensive footwork, and basic offensive/defensive sets.
• Practice & Game Prep: Plan and execute structured, high-energy practices and manage team logistics for home and away games.
• Character & Sportsmanship: Model positive behavior, teamwork, effort, and respect for teammates, opponents, and officials.
• OHSAA Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with OHSAA middle school bylaws, season limits, and safety guidelines.
• Academic Support: Monitor student-athlete grades to ensure players maintain academic eligibility per school district policies.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Prior playing or coaching experience at the middle school, high school, or youth level.
• Valid (or ability to obtain) OHSAA Pupil Activity Permit (PAP), including:

• CPR/AED Certification
• First Aid for Coaches
• Concussion Training (NFHS / Ohio Dept. of Health)
• Sudden Cardiac Arrest (Lindsay’s Law) Training
• Student Mental Health Training

• Successful completion of FBI/BCI criminal background checks.
