Substitute Teacher

Description:
Calumet City School District No. 155 needs substitutes willing to work on an intermittent basis with little or no advance notice. Substitute teachers will be called by an automated calling system (AESOP) as positions become available.

Job Summary:
Substitute teachers are required to maintain discipline and classroom control that provides a safe and positive environment for all students. Lessons plans and/or instructions will be left by the primary teacher and MUST be followed. Students MUST be supervised at all times and respect for the teacher's personal property is essential. Duties include: teaching from a lesson plan, collecting required homework and maintaining a positive learning environment for all students.

Qualifications:
Must be certified through SCISC4 and have a Substitute Teaching License or PEL Teaching License
Working Conditions:
Daily position when needed. No guarantee of number of days per school year.

FY26 Pay Rates
Regular Daily Rate - $160.00
Daily Rate after 10 consecutive days - $175.00
Daily Rate after 20 consecutive days - $190.00
