Teaching Assistant – Library

Carmel Central School District is seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant – Library to provide instructional, organizational, and student support in the middle school library. The ideal candidate will assist with daily library operations, support students and staff in accessing educational resources, and help maintain a welcoming, organized learning environment.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting the School Library Media Specialist with daily library activities and operations.
• Supporting students with locating, selecting, and utilizing library materials and digital resources.
• Assisting with book circulation, shelving, inventory, and organization of library materials.
• Providing individual and small-group instructional support under the direction of certified staff.
• Assisting students with research, literacy activities, and educational technology.
• Supervising students and promoting appropriate behavior within the library.
• Preparing instructional materials, displays, and resources for library programs and activities.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.
