About this role

Position:: Specialist � Student Support (EPO)
Supervisor:: Director of Student Support Services
Work Site:: Central Consolidated Administrative Complex

Summary:: The Program Specialist - EPO will be responsible for monitoring special education program and student data and to ensure timely submission of all individual student meeting documents in collaboration with building principals, teachers, parents and related services personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accuracy of special education data for each student count period.
  • Ensure timely submission of all special education individual student meeting documents.
  • Enter and track all data for developmental delayed pre-school, assign evaluations, and generate monthly reports.
  • Monitor Special Education key indicators and Education Plan for Student Success (EPSS) per New Mexico Public Education Department (PED) requirements and generate monthly monitoring reports.
  • Work with special education department heads and data-entry personnel to ensure quality of special education data monitoring at the school level.
  • Assist in creating a Response to Intervention (RTI) data tracking tool to be used for students with an Individual Education Plan (IEP) to track progress and achievement of IEP goals.
  • Develop and maintain a database for monitoring dual discrepancy needed to assist in identification of students with a specific learning disability.
  • Assist departments and schools with student data entry and other assignments, as needed.
  • Comply with all Board of Education policies, administrative regulations, Public Education Department guidelines and local, state and federal laws.

  • Accept other responsibilities and duties assigned by supervisor
  • Support district and school efforts to keep CCSD safe and secure
  • Complete and comply with all required trainings annually
  • Adhere to NM Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession (NMAC 6.60.9.8)
  • Other duties as assigned, reasonably related to the scope of the position

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Education, Business or a related field

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of Dine language, culture, and history preferred
  • Good communication skills and customer service skills

Physical/Job Requirements:
Standing, sitting, walking, lifting, carrying up to 50 pounds, climbing, bending, reaching, kneeling, driving a vehicle, traveling long distances, writing, typing, word processing, reading, researching information, and effective communication skills

Safety and Health:

  • Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions
  • Completed and cleared background check
  • Pass drug test if required for position
  • Knowledge and compliance with district and school Safety Plans

Equipment/Material Handled:

  • Multimedia equipment, including current technology
  • Equipment/materials relevant to the job responsibilities
  • Valid driver license and insurable by district if necessary

Work Environment:

  • Must be able to work within various degrees of noise, temperature and air quality

  • Must be self-motivated and able to complete job assignment without direct supervision
  • Must complete applications and assignments within the timeframes allowed
