Pest Control / Sports Turf Foreman

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A high school diploma or GED is required;
• Ability to speak, read and understand the English language;
• Must have a clear and acceptable driving record as determined by the Texas School Bus Driver's requirements;
• Licensed by Texas Dept. of Agriculture for Pesticide Applicator;
• Five (5) years of experience in Pest Control preferred; and
• Member of Sports Turf Managers Association preferred.

SALARY/PAYGRADE:

$30.67/HS-12

Salary (based on verifiable job-related experience) as set by the Board of Trustees for the school year

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Train Grounds employees and oversee the application of chemicals at all campuses.
• Maintain training log of all employees making chemical applications under this license.
• Maintain accurate records of Red, Yellow, and Green label chemical use in the District.
• Assume the duties of the IPM Coordinator.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for IPM Program.
• Assure compliance with yearly inspections by the Structural Pest Control Board.
• Act as advisor to Supervisor of Grounds on any issues dealing with chemical treatments in the District.
• Maintain yearly CEUs mandated by the State of Texas.
• Maintain an inventory of needed products and supplies.
• Maintain work order records of all chemical applications.
• Supervise the maintenance of all athletic fields within the District.
• Provide guidance and supervision to Athletic Field Maintenance Crews.
• Work in close communication with coaches and Athletic Dept. administrators.
• Assist Supervisor of Grounds in any capacity needed.

1. Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds.

2. Be available to work different schedules or shifts to accomplish tasks.

3. Be available for after-hour demands, subject to 24-hour responsibility.

4. Maintain emotional control under stress.

5. Ability to work alone.

6. Ability to keep information confidential.
