PRIMARY PURPOSE

Supervise students in grades Pre-K through 5 in the after-school program and ensure a safe, structured, and engaging environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Ability to interact positively and effectively with children
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Experience:

• No experience required; experience working with children preferred

Requirements:

• Ability to work overtime when requested
• Ability to work Monday through Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. while school is in session

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Student Supervision and Engagement

• Lead, supervise, and conduct age-appropriate activities for students.
• Ensure safety and security of students during indoor and outdoor activities.
• Promote positive behavior and model appropriate interactions.
• Greet and communicate with parents and guardians daily regarding student participation and needs.

Other

• Maintain confidentiality regarding student and coworker information in accordance with FERPA.
• Participate in staff development, meetings, and special events as assigned.
• Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Posture: Frequent standing, walking, stooping, bending, pulling, and pushing.
Motion: Active movement throughout program areas; frequent interaction with students.
Lifting: Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
Environment: Work inside and outside; exposure to typical after-school noise levels and varying weather conditions.
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control in potentially stressful situations; sustain energy level necessary to actively supervise and engage children.
