About this role
Primary Purpose:
The Math Coordinator will support all K-12 staff in the implementation of the district math curriculum. The Coordinator will work directly with teachers in a school providing classroom-based demonstrations, collaborative and one-on-one support, and facilitating teacher inquiry and related professional development. The Coordinator will focus on enhancing teachers' ability to provide instruction that builds students' sense of engagement in the ownership of learning. The Coordinator will also work with administrators, directors, instructional coaches, and teachers to collect and analyze data, interpret, and use it to guide instructional decisions.

Education/Certification:
- Bachelor's Degree
- SBEC Math Teacher Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong knowledge of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) in mathematics; knowledge of research-based mathematics instructional practices; ability to analyze student performance and assessment data; ability to provide instructional coaching and professional development; strong communication, collaboration, organization, and technology skills.
Experience:
Minimum three years of successful mathematics teaching experience required; experience in instructional coaching, curriculum development, or campus/district instructional leadership preferred.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support implementation and alignment of the K-12 mathematics curriculum, Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), instructional resources, and district initiatives.
- Provide coaching, modeling, feedback, and instructional support to mathematics teachers.
- Plan and facilitate mathematics professional learning based on district priorities and identified needs.
- Analyze district, campus, classroom, and state assessment data to identify trends and recommend instructional responses.
- Support campuses in developing and monitoring mathematics intervention plans for students who are not demonstrating mastery.
- Collaborate with principals, instructional leaders, and teachers to establish and monitor mathematics achievement goals.
- Support the development, implementation, and analysis of common assessments and district mathematics assessments.
- Assist campuses with effective implementation of Bluebonnet, High-Quality Instructional Materials (HQIM) and research-based mathematics instructional practices.
- Monitor curriculum implementation through classroom visits, teacher collaboration, and data review.
- Provide targeted support to campuses and grade levels based on student achievement data and district priorities.
- Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Technology Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Student Management software preferred.
