PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the subject area taught to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:

• Bachelor's degree from accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements in Art or eligible for employment through an Alternative Certification Program (ACP).
• Eligible ACP candidates must also meet ACP requirements and pass TExES examination(s) required for this position.

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Knowledge of subject assigned
• General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
• Ability to instruct students as well as manage their behavior
• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
