Swim Instructor/Lifeguard Pool 2026-2027

The primary purpose of the Swim Instructor / Lifeguard is to supervise the safety and rescue of swimmers at the HCISD Aquatic Center. In addition, the Swim Instructor / Lifeguard prevent, recognize, and respond to emergencies and provide care for injuries and sudden illnesses until advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:Must hold a current certification of the following:
1.) First Aid,
2.) CPR or CPR for the professional,
3) Water Safety Instructor or Lifeguard rating from an approved certification program, or relevant swim instructor/lifeguard experience

• Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of the daily routine of an aquatic center. Comfortable working with children during the swim lesson process.

• Experience:

1 year related experience as a swim instructor and/or lifeguard
