Aide (Non-Instructional)

Primary Purpose:

To provide additional support for center-based operations. Duties and tasks based on newly established practices and processes created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

• High school diploma or GED certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to interact with diverse populations
• Ability to identify and solve problems
• Ability to work cohesively with center staff
• Ability to effectively assist with a variety of center-based non-instructional tasks

Experience:

• Experience working in childcare settings with children ages 0-5
• Experience working in an Early Head Start or Head Start program preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

• Model HCDE and Head Start’s mission, vision, and values.
• Comply with all state and federal laws and department and center policies and procedures.
• Work with interdisciplinary teams to ensure integration and consistent delivery of all Head Start services.
• Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and staff information.
• Ensure adequate supervision of students to ensure the health, welfare, and safety of all students.
• Support center personnel to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the center.
• Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
• Cooperate with all center and department personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
