POSITION SUMMARY:

The Principal provides strategic and operational leadership for the school, leading the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of curricular, instructional, personnel, and schoolwide initiatives aligned with the District mission and strategic plan to support and enhance student learning and outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE - KNOWLEDGE:

  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with General Administrative or Principal Endorsement.
  • Master's degree in educational leadership.
  • Three years of successful secondary administrative and supervisory experience
  • Three years secondary teaching experience.
  • Qualified teacher and principal evaluator.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated digital literacy and ability to effectively use district technology systems and tools for communication, collaboration, data analysis, instructional leadership, and school operations.
  • Ability to facilitate student learning through effective leadership and collaboration.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing, in English.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and to address difficult situations with courtesy, tact, discretion, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond appropriately to questions.
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and effectively utilize data to inform decision-making and improve student outcomes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, such as the ability to read type or handwritten materials. The noise level in the work environment is generally low, but increases greatly during large gatherings of students and staff, such as assemblies, sports and activity competitions, school dances, etc. The employee continuously interacts with students, staff, and the community in a fast-paced work environment. The employee will need to attend events outdoors on a variety of surfaces and be able to travel throughout the community and between district buildings and other schools in the surrounding area.
