Long Term Substitute - Engineering

J. Sterling Morton High School District 201 is seeking a qualified Long-Term Substitute Engineering Teacher to provide instruction from November 2, 2026, through December 11, 2026.

The successful candidate will teach Project Lead the Way (PLTW) courses including Introduction to Engineering Design, Principles of Engineering, Computer Integrated Manufacturing, and Engineering Independent Study, while maintaining continuity of instruction in a hands-on, student-centered learning environment.

Responsibilities include delivering PLTW curriculum, facilitating project-based learning, maintaining a safe laboratory environment, assessing student progress, communicating with students, families, and staff, and collaborating with the engineering department to support student success.

Candidates must hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License or Substitute Teaching License (or otherwise be eligible to serve as a long-term substitute under Illinois law); experience with engineering, STEM education, or PLTW curriculum is preferred.

Pay Rates:
For those with a sub license: $95/day for the first 15 days, $120/day starting on day 16.
For those with a PEL and appropriate endorsement: $110/day for the first 15 days, $319.14/day starting on day 16.
