Bus Aide

Salary $15.04 - $16.54

Route Times: 6:30 AM - 9:15 AM, 2:15 PM - 3:30 PM (Times may be subject to change

Priority will be given to candidates who have previous experience working with special needs students.

Must have the physical ability to lift, carry / move equipment or supplies weighing up to fifty pounds and transport students using a wheelchair or orther mobility device.
Must attend all mandatory meetings and training programs when requested.

Responsible for monitoring and controlling students' behavior.
Report discipline problems to the appropriate authorigy.
Assist with the loading and unloading of students.
Operate the wheelchair lift, when applicable. Ensure wheelchairs are properly positioned, locked and secured.
Perform daily inspection of safey harnesses, restraints, andother special equipment used in the transportation of students with disabilities.
Follow approved procedures when assisting with housekeeping to maintain a safe and clean bus, and attending to the needs of students who become ill.
Serve as a role model for students. Demonstrate responsibility, citizenship, respect and courtesy.
