GROUNDSKEEPER

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Maintain safe and attractive grounds and landscaping for the district.

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• Must have a valid Texas driver’s license and a good driving record

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

• Ability to read and understand written instructions
• Ability to communicate (verbally)
• Ability to operate tractor and landscaping equipment
• Ability to operate riding or power mower, power tools, and hand tools
• Plant shrubs, trees, and flowers. Prune trees and shrubs.
• Spray for weeds and insects using unrestricted chemicals as required.
• Operate large power lawn mowers, edgers, hand tools, and large vehicles associated with ground maintenance and landscaping activities
• Operate pickup trucks, flat rack trucks, and dump trucks for hauling purposes and for trash and debris removal
• Performs minor maintenance and repair on equipment
• Use of power equipment

EXPERIENCE:

• Preferred but not required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Moderate walking, standing, climbing, heavy lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching
• Work outside and inside, with exposure to all types of weather and noise.
