Maintenance Grounds Keeper

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Under general supervision, maintain AISD grounds in an appearance of

excellence to include, but not limited to: mowing, trimming and picking up of trash.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education:

A high school diploma or equivalent, preferred

Certification / License:

Valid Driver's License, preferred

Special Knowledge/Skills:

General knowledge of landscape maintenance.

General knowledge of the Maintenance Department’s organization and operation.

Demonstrated ability to perform responsibilities under general supervision.

Must have demonstrated organizational, communication, customer service,

and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of the position.

Demonstrated general knowledge associated with given craft.

Demonstrated ability to operate tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.

Mental Demands:

Frequent changes in tasks

Irregular work hours / schedule

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Must be able to work in all weather conditions, both day and night.

Some exposure to hazardous chemicals/fuels

High noise level exposure is frequent

Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or

up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force

constantly to repair and/or move equipment and objects.

Position requires frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs, bending,

stooping and moving of objects.

Regular attendance is an essential function.

Minimum Experience:

One year experience of lawn maintenance or related field is preferred.
