New Mexico Public Educational Department Licensure (NM PED)-

Coaches (Paid and Volunteer), Your position requires a Coaching license from NM PED, you will pay the fees by credit card or debit card and you will pay the fee of $50.00. Los Alamos Public Schools will provide you with all the information you need to apply for the coaching licensure.

Coaches (Paid and Volunteer), You will pay additional fees for all NFHS courses needed for the NMPED Coaching License.

• Coach- total NFHS fees will be $100.00
• Coach Cheer- total NFHS fees will be $185
• Please register online at nfhslearn.com. Click on the “Courses” tab on the home page, scroll down to locate the above courses needed for completion.
• After completion of each course, please print your Certificate of Completion and send to Los Alamos Public Schools Human Resources Department by hand delivery, mail or email.
• You have two (2) months maximum to complete all courses after you have been processed and fingerprinted to be a Coach with Los Alamos Public Schools (LAPS).

Successful experience as either a head or assistant coach or mid school coach, or successful experience as a player or coach at the college level. To help direct the planning, preparations and coaching activities of the girls wrestling program for the high school. To help plan, schedule and conduct a regular program of practice and competition in accordance with rules of the school, the NMAA, and District 2-4A. To supervise, evaluate and recommend appointment and assignment of coaching staff. To help assist the Athletic Director and Athletic Trainer in the distribution and collection of appropriate information i.e. Physical forms, and all other forms that are required by the NMAA, District 2-4A and the high school. To attend the appropriate meetings pertaining to soccer as scheduled by the NMAA or District 2-5A. To help assume responsibility for maintaining an accurate inventory of equipment pertaining to the sport. To help oversee the safety and conditions of the facility or area assigned to the wrestling programs. To help assume responsibility for supervision, safety and welfare of students participating in the wrestling program before, during and after scheduled practices and competitive contests.

To establish and maintain good rapport with athletes, staff, parents, community groups and news media. To help assist the Athletic Director in planning and organization of promotion and participant recruitment and recognition programs pertaining to the sport. To perform assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner. To perform assigned tasks with a high standard of quality. To perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.
