Substitute Custodian

Summary
We are seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to fill the role of Substitute Custodian. This position is essential in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The Substitute Custodian will step in as needed to perform custodial duties, ensuring that facilities are well-maintained and adhere to health and safety standards.

• Responsibilities
• Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing various areas of the facility.
• Clean and restock restrooms, ensuring they are hygienic and well-maintained.
• Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Assist with the setup and breakdown of furniture and equipment for events and activities.
• Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow established procedures for cleaning and maintaining equipment and supplies.
• Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Work collaboratively with other staff members to support the overall cleanliness and functionality of the facility.
• Be available to work on short notice and cover shifts as needed.

• Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous custodial or cleaning experience is a plus but not mandatory.
• Ability to follow instructions and perform tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness.
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, as well as safety procedures.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
• Background check may be required prior to employment.
