Long Term Substitute Teacher - For our Accelerate U students taking Spanish online.

- No Spanish speaking required.

- This position will support and facilitate students independently working online (Accelerate U) towards earning Spanish class credit.

ANTICIPATED START DATE ASAP

NYS Certification - $150.00 per day ,$135.00 per day for uncertified

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Newark Central School District Substitute Teacher will assist teachers in the process of proving instruction. This Substitute Teacher will be a resource within the classroom for instructional purposes, including but not limited to differentiated instruction, direct instruction, station work, classroom management, support as outlined in students’ IEPs and general supervision.

JOB DUTIES:

• Provide instructional services to individual or small groups of students under the direct general supervision of the teacher and/or administrative personnel.
• Assist the teacher in the development and preparation of instructional materials
• Support the students in related instruction work, as required
• Maintain appropriate records of students under the direction of the appropriate teacher and/or administrative personnel
• Assist students in the use of available instructional resources
• Supervise student and assist in student management.
• Perform miscellaneous clerical duties
• Other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

-NYSED Certification: Preferred NYS Teacher Certification or higher

• PREFERRED: School-based experience, Experience working with children

• EVALUATED BY: Building Principal
• Must be fingerprinted through the NYS Department of Education (required for new employees)
