SUPERINTENDENT POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT - NORTHWEST OHIO ESC

The Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center Board of Education is seeking a dynamic and collaborative leader to serve as Superintendent. Kerri Weir has led NwOESC for the past 15 years, building on a strong tradition of high-quality services, valued partnerships, and a commitment to meeting the evolving needs of member districts. The Board seeks an educational leader who will build upon this foundation and provide vision and direction for the future. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence, collaboration, innovation, and accountability, with a deep commitment to service and to supporting students, educators, member districts, and other stakeholders.

REPORTS TO: Board of Education
SALARY: Competitive; Dependent Upon Experience
CERTIFICATION: State of Ohio School Superintendent License
CONTRACT: 12 Month/Full-Time

THE POSITION: The Superintendent serves as the Chief executive officer and professional adviser to the NwOESC Governing Board. The Superintendent provides vision and leadership for the organization, oversees all operations and services, leads and develops the administrative team, and works collaboratively with member districts and educational partners. The Superintendent is responsible for establishing a culture of excellence, innovation, collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement while ensuring that NwOESC remains responsive to the evolving needs of the districts and communities it serves.

THE SERVICE CENTER: The Northwest Ohio Educational Service Center (NwOESC) is one of the 51 Educational Service Centers in Ohio and plays a vital role in supporting public education across Northwest Ohio. NwOESC serves 23 member districts in Defiance, Fulton, Henry, and Williams Counties, with a service area representing approximately 21,000 students. NwOESC employs approximately 400 staff who provide a broad and continually evolving range of services in areas including curriculum and instruction, gifted education, migrant education, preschool, special education, and other specialized supports for students, educators, and school districts. Known for its robust services and strong partnerships, NwOESC works closely with its member districts and other educational partners to respond to local needs, strengthen educational opportunities, and support student success.
