JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for assisting the Exceptional Student Education (ESE) teacher(s) in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning educational environment in which students with cognitive, physical, communication and emotional disabilities can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resources, under the direct supervision of a Highly Qualified Teacher.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE

• Associate Degree, completion of 60 semester hours of college or passing score of 457 on the ParaPro Assessment. Information about ParaPro can be located at www.ets.org/parapro.

Conditions of Employment may be considered for highly qualified candidates who are

willing to complete ParaPro testing during the 2023-2024 school year.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES & REGISTRATIONS

Satisfactory completion required within 6-month period of the following training and/or certification provided by the District:

• Pediatric First Aid/Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
• First Aid
• Medication administration
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI)
• In addition, CPR and First Aid training must be completed every two years and CPI training need to be kept current and renewed on an annual basis.
