Substitute Secretary

The Solon City Schools are seeking qualified candidates to form a pool of substitute secretaries for school-based locations only (excludes Board Office, Transportation/Maintenance). The need is for both daily, as-needed substitutes and long-term assignments to coverge medical leaves and other lengthy absences.

• QUALIFICATIONS:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Shall excel in all secretarial and office skills and procedures necessary for the proper execution, operation and efficiency of the office.
• Shall have the ability to communicate and deal with people in a congenial and positive manner.
• Shall exhibit acceptable standards of emotional stability, moral character, sound health and be physically able to perform necessary job responsibilities.
• Shall excel in the verbal and written command of the English language and grammar.
• Shall excel in the working knowledge of word processing, data processing and other related business technology and machines. Knowledge of computers and the use of PowerSchool is preferred. Training will be provided, though.
• Shall have demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities.
• Shall exhibit a pleasant and dignified office manner, be neat in appearance and have the ability to adjust to change.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Experience in an office setting is highly preferred. Must be willing to work at any school-based locations.
Hourly rate is set at the currently approved compensation level.
