Title: Springfield Reads After-School Tutor
Reports to: Building Principal(s)
Employment Status: Part-Time
FSLA: Exempt

POSITIONS:

• After-School Teacher: Crissey (2)
• After-School Teacher: Dorr (3)
• After-School Teacher: Holloway (2)

HOURS:

• Approximately 3.5 hours per week (includes planning time and pick-up times)
• After school in the designated building on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays
• Tutoring Time: 3:45-4:45 PM *Teachers must stay until all students have left the building.
• HOURLY RATE: $25/hour (54 days); not to exceed 70 hours total

DATES:

Program Length: October 6, 2026 through March 25, 2027 *No sessions during December.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid and appropriate teaching certificate/license from the State of Ohio.
• Recent teaching experience at the elementary level preferred.
• Knowledge of OTES (Ohio Teacher Evaluation System) 2.0 domains for effective teaching.
• Knowledge of the Ohio Standards for the Teaching Profession.
• Knowledge of Ohio’s Revised ELA Learning Standards and learner outcomes associated with Cambium Assessments.
• Knowledge of Google applications, including Google Classroom.
• Knowledge of how to integrate technology into the curriculum.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with students, parents, teachers, and administrators.
• Willingness to meet the needs of all students (e.g., at-risk, high-achieving, special education).
• Experience working with a culturally diverse student population preferred.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Track student attendance throughout the duration of the program.
• Organize curricular materials related to the program.
• Willing to teach skill-targeted lessons to students enrolled in the program.
• Maintain contact with regular classroom teachers to determine the content and skills that need reinforcement.
• Maintains records related to tutees.
• Other duties as assigned.
