Child Care Aide - CDC

Job Title: Child Development Center Aide
Exemption Status/Test: Non-exempt. Pay Scale CPP2
Reports to: Coordinator � Child Development Center

Primary Purpose:

Supervise and maintain a safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate learning environment for children ages 6 weeks to 4 years

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED Must have or be willing to obtain CDA Must have or be willing to obtain basic CPR and first aid training Must maintain required training annually

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to work well with young children Ability to communicate effectively Ability to be proactive instead of reactive Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 50 pounds Ability to effectively utilize technology to include proficiency in relevant software applications necessary to perform job responsibilities Professional Conduct: Maintain professional and courteous interactions with co-workers, children, parents, community and visitors Demonstrate the ability to remain calm and withstand pressures Demonstrate flexibility to change in routine and adapt quickly to changing situations Demonstrate willingness to assist fellow workers as needed Demonstrate regular and prompt attendance Maintain confidentiality

Experience:

At least 6 months of experience working with young children in a preschool center environment preferred
