Grounds Maintenance I

Pearson Center 7:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. 8 hours, 5 days a week

Primary Job Function

Under general supervision, is responsible for maintenance, installations, and repairs of grounds, equipment, and buildings. Follows all safety regulations and requirements, in providing a safe, functional and pleasing campus, and learning environment.

General Duties:

Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Computer and Software programs within the district
Skilled in:
Must be skilled in proper operation of all related equipment and vehicles.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Certification:

• High School Graduate or G.E.D.
• Must be able to obtain the appropriate license governing pesticide and fertilize application from the Ohio Department of Agriculture within one (1) year
• Must have successfully completed the Core Steps as outlined in Article 29.08 of the AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement as documented and verified by the Grounds Foreman
• Must pass Toledo Public Schools related skills and physical standards testing
• Must possess valid driver’s license and meet Toledo Public Schools vehicle fleet insurance criteria and maintain the same

Specific Job-Related Experience:

• Must have one (1) year of grounds maintenance experience in the operation of tractors, trucks, large power mowers, tree removal and snow removal equipment. i.e. snow blower, chain saw, commercial chipper
• Must be keyboard and software proficient and willing to learn those software programs that are specific to the desk
