Job Description: Empire High School is seeking an Assistant Softball Coach to support the Head Coach in developing and managing a competitive, positive, and educational high school softball program. This role focuses on skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and student-athlete growth both on and off the field.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Head Coach with planning and conducting practices and matches
• Provide individual and group instruction in softball fundamentals, rules, and course strategy
• Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance player performance and team success.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to student-athletes, emphasizing sportsmanship, discipline, and teamwork.
• Promote academic achievement and ensure players adhere to eligibility requirements.
• Represent Empire High School with professionalism in the community and in interscholastic competitions.
• Ensure compliance with Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) rules and school policies.

Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of the sport’s fundamentals, rules, and strategies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to foster a positive and inclusive team environment.
• CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• NFHS Coaching Certificates - fundamentals of coaching and concussion.
• Must pass a background check as required by the school district.

• Prior coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level.
• Previous experience as an assistant coach.
• Knowledge of strength and conditioning principles.
• Experience with student-athlete development programs.
