Cross Categorical Teacher - (Control Code: 23490)

VACANCY: The Valley View Public School District is seeking an individual to fill a full-time Cross Categorical teaching position for the 2026-2027 school year.

JOB SUMMARY: The Cross-Categorical teacher is responsible for planning and delivering instructional lessons that meet the needs of students with mild to moderate disabilities, creating a classroom environment that is conducive to learning; and employing effective instructional techniques. Additional duties as may from time to time be assigned in accordance with provisions of the Board's policies and requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Current Illinois (PEL) Professional Educator License
• Endorsement in Learning Behavior Specialist (LBSI)
• Expertise in Behavior Management strategies
• Ability to write and implement Individual Educational Plans (IEP's)
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work cooperatively with others
• Satisfactory special education teaching experience
