High School Varsity Baseball Coach

Position:

• Boys Varsity Baseball Coach

Qualifications:

• Valid CPR certification.
• Valid State of Ohio Pupil Activity Permit.
• Successful BCII and FBI background checks.
• Successfully completed the NFHS Coaching certification.
• Successfully completed the Sudden Signs of Cardiac Arrest (Lindsay's Law)
• certification.
• Prior successful baseball coaching experience.

Supplemental Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and supervise baseball program and team.
• Promote an appreciation of physical fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship.
• Design a training program for student athlete conditioning and game program.
• Organize and supervise the coaching staff to assure that the program is properly implemented.
• Ensure that all athletic activities conform to OHSAA guidelines.
• Supervise and evaluate all assistant coaches and JV/freshman coaches.
• Work effectively with booster clubs and other community organizations to generate additional monies for the program.
• Responsible for assisting the Athletic Director with game schedules, practice schedules and transportation.
• Attend OHSAA rules meetings (in-person or online).
• Develop team rules/expectations and communicate them to players and families and enforce them.
• Notify media final scores and newsworthy items to promote student accomplishments.
• Ensure students complete all athletic forms on Final Forms.
• Ensure hard copies of student physical forms are provided to the athletic office.
• Be responsible for following district guidelines for purchasing items, maintaining a budget, inventory and care of equipment.
• Submit a complete roster to the athletic department.
• Ensure the continual supervision of student athletes on the field, in conditioning and in locker facilities.
• Ensure all health and safety precautions are observed during all activities.
• Immediately report all major injuries incurred during practice sessions or competition to the Athletic Director and trainer.
• Provide an end of the season recognition for the students to pass out varsity letters, certificates and trophies.
• Adhere to other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
• Abide by the rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the Warren Board of Education.
• Perform any other relevant duties as may be assigned by the Athletic Director or his/her designee.

Salary Ratio: Coaching - Index 11.2
