Who We Are:
Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 13,000 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. The District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9 � 12th grade campuses. The District encompasses portions of Waukegan, Beach Park and Park City.

Organizational Relationship:
The Teacher Center Secretary is directly responsible to the Principal.
General Duties:
- To perform a wide variety of confidential and complex secretarial, clerical and record-keeping functions necessary for the efficient functioning of the Teacher Center.
- Act as a liaison between the public and the school district and in doing so, promoting the general image of the Waukegan Public School District.
- Promote educational enterprise through service to students, parents, visitors and staff.
- Welcome staff to the Teacher Center
Specific Duties:
- All record keeping and filing
- Assist in the registration process during WHS public registration dates and times
- Assist with the implementation of WHS Student Assessments
- Update, maintain and distribute mail, Board News, etc., into Teachers' mailboxes.
- Maintain bulletin boards and postings in the Teachers' Center
- Assemble and process school improvement and curricular materials as well as Field Trip Form Requests.
- Assist teachers with end of year close out.
- Assist the Department Chairs with the organization of professional development and school improvement activities including material preparation.
- Assemble and report teacher attendance/absence and class coverage data upon request
- Coordinate all materials (print request, labels, address sheets, etc.) for mass mailings for WHS.
- Process, mass mailings for WHS.
- Create and process substitute payroll and reports per district policies and procedures and maintain files of such.
- Coordinate all electronic information using the on-line district system.
- Work cooperatively with Staff and check district attendance tracking system daily in assigning substitute teachers as needed and process necessary paperwork and payroll, meeting District timelines.
- Maintain Teacher Center equipment or copiers, fill building copiers with paper/staples, and assist with service requests when necessary.
- Prepare orders for processing, as requested, and distribute supplies for miscellaneous equipment. (i.e. general supplies in the Staff Center).
- Will attend any and all trainings necessary to learn new technologies and skills as requested by Administration and/or their designee.
- Other job related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent;
- Commitment to the belief that all children, regardless of circumstances, can achieve at high levels.
- Good communication, organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills required.
- Demonstrated ability to work with data in multiple computer environments, including but not limited to:
- Windows based PC's, district-wide networked systems including the Student Information System (SIS)
- and Financial Management System (FMS), Google systems.
- Effective and efficient word processing skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively and prioritize strategically.
- Ability to care for minute details and editing skills to ensure reliable and accurate results, verifying information for accuracy.
- Ability to do record keeping, prioritize and work independently with minimal supervision and follow oral and written instructions.
- Successfully work in a collaborative environment.
- Ability to interact in a positive manner with students, staff, parents, outside agencies, and central services staff.
- Ability to plan, organize, schedule, and manage documents in a timely and effective manner.
