Substitute Instructor, Fire/EMT Program

STARTING DATE: As needed during the 2026-2027 School Year
SALARY: $120 per day (Days 1 – 30); $140 (Days 31+)
REPORTS TO: CTE Supervisor
WORK WEEK/YEAR: As per board-adopted calendar

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must hold Fire and Emergency Services Instructor II Certification
• Must hold Firefighter II and EMT-Basic Certification
• BCI and FBI criminal records results less than one-year old must be submitted prior to initial employment and as required thereafter
• Must have or be willing to get a Career Tech Workforce Development Substitute Teaching License

STEPS TO BECOME A SUBSTITUTE:

• Complete the Application and submit documents needed for payroll when requested
• Obtain a valid Ohio Substitute License
• Be approved by the WCSCC Board of Education
• Attend an orientation and complete Public School Works Trainings

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

• Team player who demonstrates initiative, dependability, and reliability
• Highly organized and committed to implementing lesson plans with high fidelity
• Demonstrates a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality in all matters related to student and staff information
• Adheres to and supports school policies and procedures
• Ability to effectively communicate with the instructor of the program to ensure learning objectives and outcomes are met
