Winthrop Harbor School District is looking for a Food Server Substitute at Westfield Elementary

TITLE: Food Server Substitute
REPORTS TO: Building Principal/District Personnel

DESCRIPTION:
Heat and serve meals to students, charge lunch fees, maintain cleanliness of kitchen

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Required High School Diploma or equivalent

ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Flexibility and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, often with strict deadlines
• Warm meals to required temperature
• Monitor and scan student lunch cards during all lunch periods
• Keep all records of free and reduced students current and confidential
• Ensure all students take a reimbursable lunch with all components as defined by the National School Lunch Program
• Collect, record and balance student lunch accounts
• Ensure cleanliness of kitchen area
• Communicate respectfully to parents, students and staff while working effectively as a member of a team
• Other duties as assigned by the building principal or district personnel

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical Requirements: Able to lift up to 50 pounds, bending, kneeling, and working in hot and cold kitchen conditions.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Employee works 6 hours per day (7:00am � 1pm) on days when a substitute is needed.
HOURLY WAGE: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement. 2026-2027 School Year $24.00 per hour.
