EFFECTIVE: Upon Hire

POSITION: 2 Hours Per Day, Total hours for both AM and PM duties
Nine (9) Month Position
Salary Range: $19.65 - $23.98 Per Hour

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The responsibility of the Student Supervision Aide in this position is to supervise children at an assigned intersection in conjunction with the movement of children during hours when children walk to and from school.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Student Supervision Aide Permit or Educational Aide Permit Required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Knowledge of traffic regulations.
• Willingness and ability to work in undesirable weather conditions.
• Ability to work with students, school staff, and parents.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Understanding of confidentiality of information about students and all school matters.
• Ability to control temper, keep calm, and respond quickly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Control vehicular and pedestrian traffic at designated crossings and intersections for the safe crossing of children.
• General supervision of students.
• Complete all records and reports as required.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists co-workers as required.
• Performs other tasks as may be required by principal.

INHERENTLY HAZARDOUS AND PHYSICALLY DEMANDING WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Occasional exposure to inclement weather conditions.
• Occasional interaction among unruly students.
• Occasional lifting or moving up to 10 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required including distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
• Occasional exposure to odorous vapors.
• Occasional work near moving mechanical parts.
