Financial Aid Specialist II

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of automated processing systems. Knowledge of government rules, regulations, guidelines, and procedures related to financial aid. Skill in using computer software, such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to work in a multicultural diverse environment and successfully interact with others in a supportive, collaborative and positive manner. Ability to multi-task.

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's Degree in Business Administration or related field and two years of related experience; or four years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job and/or as approved by the Human Resources department.

Preferred

Experience with complex information systems such as the Ellucian Banner products.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods and frequently use hands for tasks involving basic office equipment and supplies. The role occasionally requires standing and walking. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 20 pounds.

The position requires close visual acuity with the ability to adjust focus, as well as auditory ability to engage in conversations both in person and over the phone. Manual dexterity is required for writing, advanced keyboard use, and operating standard office equipment, often involving repetitive motions.

Work Environment

Work is performed indoors where minimal safety considerations exist. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
