Examples of Duties

Teach assigned undergraduate art courses in accordance with approved course descriptions, learning outcomes, and college policies.

Teach assigned undergraduate art courses in accordance with approved course descriptions, learning outcomes, and college policies.

Prepare and deliver lectures, demonstrations, studio activities, critiques, and other instructional experiences appropriate to the course.

Develop and maintain an organized course of syllabus, instructional materials, assignments, and assessments.

Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student progress.

Integrate appropriate technology, contemporary artistic practices, and relevant cultural perspectives into instruction.

Encourage critical thinking, creativity, experimentation, and professional development.

Maintain regular communication with students and respond appropriately to academic questions and concerns.

Participate in required faculty meetings, orientations, training, and professional-development activities as applicable.

This position may also be required to teach web classes and to keep class records using Canvas. Computer skills are also preferred for using technology in the classroom.

Qualifications

A Master’s degree in Art from an Institutionally accredited college or university
College-level teaching or instructional experience

Professional experience as a practicing artist, designer, or arts educator

Experience incorporating technology and contemporary practices into art instruction.
