About this role

Description

The primary functions of this position are to maintain the college campuses by repairing mechanical and electrical malfunctions of equipment and replacing unrepairable equipment essential to the overall environment of the college.

The work schedule for this position is Tuesday-Thursday 6:00am-4:30pm (10 Hours) and Friday 6:00am-2:00pm (7.5 Hours).
The on call needs are on a rotation between the Maintenance Team serving one week (Tuesday-Tuesday) per rotation.

Examples of Duties

Performs high and low voltage electrical maintenance and repairs in areas such as campus lighting, electrical distribution and refrigeration systems

Maintains facilities to include such items as repairs or replacement of electrical fixtures, motors, switches and thermostats, and diagnosing issues and conducting preventive maintenance of all mechanical and electrical systems on the three college campuses.

Performs plumbing services to include such items as repair and installation of flush tanks, sink bowls, commodes, water and sewer lines, and any other plumbing projects

Performs painting and other preventive maintenance services to include exterior and interior of buildings, student areas and offices

Performs repairs to items such as door locks and frames, roofs and partitions, and utilizes power saws, lathes, and related equipment for carpentry repairs and woodworking duties

Calibrates and adjusts equipment and testing devices.

Works with little or no direct supervision

Performs other maintenance duties as needed or requested

Provides support for IT Department with repairing electronic door lock components

Participates in professional development

Performs other duties as required

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalency requiredSome experience in general trades work in one or more of the building trades
