Part-Time TRiO Tutor

Description

GCSC’s TRiO department seeks a part-time tutor who can serve our participants’ extracurricular Mathematics, English/Language Arts, Civics/Social Studies, or Science learning needs. TRiO’s part-time tutors supplement our participants’ classroom instruction by providing intensive in-person academic assistance and guidance in one-on-one or group settings.

Examples of Duties

Greet participants and ensure they electronically sign in &out of TRiO’s tutoring labReview assignments and home work with participants
Identify and develop tutorial material
Provide tutoring on specific subjects
Assist participants with accessing and utilizing cloud-based tutoring software
Communicate participants’ academic struggles to grant program leadership
Proctor tests(e.g., GED examinations)
Attend professional development and training

Qualifications

Associate's degree or higher from an institutional accredited college/universityAbility to develop positive rapport with participants
Excellent communication and organization skills
Proficiency in Mathematics, English/Language Arts, Civics/Social Studies, or Science
