Part Time Music Instructor - Conducting

SUNY Niagara has a need for a part time Music Instructor for our Conducting course.

This course is taught in person in a classroom setting on our Sanborn, NY campus. The objective of this course is to introduce the student to the basics of conducting proficiency, terminology, and score study. Conducting technique, posture, preparatory gestures, the ictus, eye contact, meters, releases, fermatas, styles, dynamics, hand autonomy, cues, entrances, baton technique, repertoire, and rehearsal procedure will be explored. Students will have opportunity to conduct in class, rehearsal, and/or performance venues as well as to attend local performances.

Remuneration for this position is: $1,008 per lecture hour/$903 per lab hour.
