Part Time Prison Education Program Instructor

SUNY Niagara has a need for part-time instructors to teach introductory courses at the Niagara County Holding Center.

The classes are in-person (face-to-face) at the Niagara County Holding Center in Lockport, NY. The courses are daily from 9:00 am – 10:30 am or 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm for MOD15, MOD25, and MOD35 (five-week courses). Priority will be given to instructors who are able to teach English and/or Math, however all disciplines may apply. Instructors will need to pass a background check and complete mandatory civilian training.

Selectect candidates must be able to pass a background check and complete civilian training at the Niagara County Jail.

In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, SUNY Niagara will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as-needed basis, and candidates will be contacted when the department has an opening. Candidates who submit their information may or may not be notified as to the status of their application.
