About this role
Primary Purpose:
The role of the LRC resource clerk is to manage the district class set resources. The LRC resource clerk is also responsible for processing district purchased library materials, keeping accurate records, and making campus deliveries in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High School diploma or equivalency
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient computing, keyboarding, file maintenance skills
Ability to file books following the district cataloging system
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well with librarians, library associates, and teachers
Experience:
1 to 2 years working with children
1-year clerical experience
1 to 2 years district library experience
Performance Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Support board and administrative policies and decisions.
2. Maintain a professional work environment through positive attitude, punctuality, regular attendance, phone etiquette, integrity, and personal appearance.
General
1. Schedule and prepare materials and reserve collection for classroom instructional use.
2. Delivery class sets, books, and materials to campuses post-cataloging.
3. Make recommendations for acquisitions of books, materials, and equipment as needed.
4. Make recommendations for substitutions of titles as needed.
5. Operate the library media center automated circulation and media system.
6. Consult teachers on units of instruction and assist them in finding appropriate grade level materials.
7. Safely operate and maintain the district vehicle.
8. Shelve incoming books, materials, and equipment.
9. Organize and maintain book rooms.
10. Collect and maintain records of lost/damaged class set book fines.
11. Receive and process books, materials, equipment and reconcile with packing slips and invoices.
12. Repair books, materials, and equipment or process for repair
13. Assist in the annual inventory and weeding of library media center materials.
14. Maintain physical and computerized files.
15. Assist head cataloger in keeping administrative records and preparing required reports.
16. Download MediCast materials and update these files.
17. Maintain confidentiality.
18. Perform other duties as assigned by the library director, lead librarian, or designee.
19. Communicate effectively with colleagues and teachers.
20. Maintain a positive and effective relationship with supervisors.
21. Assist with special library programs/events.

Computer, printer, copier, AV equipment, book repair tool kit, and small hand tools

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Lift and carry up to 45 pounds, ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time, ability to walk, climb, balance, stoop, and kneel, repetitive hand motions, hear well, speak clearly, visual acuity and distinguish colors
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
Exposure to communicable diseases.
Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt
Pay Grade: Clerical-Paraprofessional - 2
