SUBSTITUTE CAFETERIA HELPERS-CHILD NUTRITION 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR

The Akron Board of Education announces openings for Substitute Cafeteria Helpers-Child Nutrition, Job Code 821, Time Schedule 370 (187 days) as and when needed basis (average 20-25 hrs. week). Hourly Rate: $15.39/hour. This is a School Employees Retirement System position.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:

• High school diploma or G.E.D.;
• Must satisfactorily complete Bureau of Criminal Investigation and FBI background checks;
• Dependable transportation;
• Landline or cell phone.

Desired:

• Foodservice experience.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is routine, but responsible work in the preparation of meals for school cafeterias.

• Basic mathematics, computer, and money handling skills;
• Performs various physical tasks related to food preparation, service and cleaning;
• Ability to work quickly, accurately, and neatly;
• Follows all food safety and sanitation requirements;
• Interacts in a positive manner with students, faculty, and coworkers;
• Operates foodservice equipment, computerized register; frequent and regular requirement to lift (40 lbs.), stand for extended periods, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, stand, bend, reach and stoop.
