Custodian (2nd Shift)

JOB DESCRIPTION

CUSTODIAN – THIRD SHIFT

ARGO COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Shift Supervisor
CLASSIFICATION: 12-Month Custodian

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Perform general and heavy cleaning as assigned, including sweeping, dusting, and mopping within the assigned area (Task Card).

· Assist with floor cleaning, polishing, etc., as needed.

· Perform plumbing-related tasks, including drain unclogging, etc.

· Maintain inventory of supplies for daily restocking.

· Move furniture or equipment as needed.

· Assist staff, students, and visitors with daily requests, including directions and access to rooms.

· May be assigned to periodically check operating equipment and report any malfunction to the Shift Supervisor.

· Secure the building and equipment.

· May be assigned to work in special areas when students are not in attendance or during emergency situations.

· Change light bulbs in classrooms and exit signs as needed.

· Ability to lift supplies/equipment up to 50 lb. on a frequent basis.

· Assist with designated setup and teardown of staging, chairs, etc., for events throughout the year.

· Work with all District personnel to provide a harmonious operation of the School District.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Experience in custodial cleaning, particularly in schools.

· Knowledge of cleaning equipment, supplies, and safety precautions related to the position.

· Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.

· High school diploma or GED.

· Ability to relate verbally to students, parents, visitors, and staff.

· Physical ability to meet job requirements.

HOURS

SHIFT: HOURS
1st Shift: 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
2nd Shift: 3:00 PM–11:30 PM
3rd Shift: 10:30 PM–7:00 AM
