Maintenance Helper/Security Guard (Weds-Sat)

Arlington Central School District is currently recruiting for a Maintenance Helper/Security Guard (Saturday-Wednesday). This position involves a variety of responsibilities related to the operation, maintenance and cleaning of buildings are related equipment, as well as the responsibility for patrolling an assigned area in order to guard against trespass or damage.

Typical work may include but is not limited to the following:

• Assist with the cleaning and repair of boilers, pumps, heaters, etc.
• Assist with the installation and repair of general plumbing equipment such as sinks, toilets, etc.
• Operates equipment such as air compressors, power snakes, etc.
• Checks the function of heating and refrigeration equipment and checks plumbing and roof for leaks
• Patrols assigned areas in order to guard against trespass or damage
• Investigates status of persons in and around buildings
• Insures security systems are activated and all windows/doors are secured
• Submit written reports to the supervisor noting vandalism, security infractions, equipment condition, leaks and unauthorized use of buildings
• Does related work as required
