School Nurses

Nature And Scope Of Job:
This School Nurse will serve as the primary advocate for the health and well being of students and staff at assigned school as well as two Preschool providers in district. Responsibilities include health screening and services, emergency first aid, the care of those who are ill and/or injured while in the school, maintenance of health records, and instruction in sound health practices. School Nurses are expected to respond to health emergencies, administer necessary medications as well as to assist medically fragile students district-wide, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A valid NJDOE School Nurse Certificate #3000 or a valid NJDOE School Nurse-Non Instructional Certificate #3010 (preferred) or
• Hold a valid, current New Jersey RN License; if an RN is eligible for an Emergency Certification, the candidate must provide documented proof of enrollment in a qualified program to obtain the required courses necessary for the issuance of a Standard School Nurse-Non Instructional Certificate within 1 year from date of hire.
• Hold a valid, current New Jersey RN License.
• Hold a current CPR and First Aid Certification
• Hold and maintain a valid driver's license with no serious violations
• Hold a Child Care Health Consultant Certification, preferred

Terms:

• Travel throughout Asbury Park is required
• Salary, benefits and leave time as specified in the Collective Bargaining Agreement
• Ten (10) month position
• Reports to assigned Supervisors and Principal
