Bus Driver

This position is for the Atlantic County Special Services School District
Title: School Bus Driver

• Position Purpose
• Under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Transportation, to ensure the safe transportation of students, staff, and others to and from school, residential neighborhoods, and field trips.
• QUALIFICATIONS:
• Must possess and maintain valid New Jersey Bus Driver’s License (CDL). Class C and evidence of an excellent driving record.
• Must possess and maintain valid certification in C.P.R. and First Aid, or obtain within 60 calendar days of employment.
• Be of good character and reputation.
• Be in good physical and mental health. Capable of lifting, positioning and caring for students with disabilities.
• Be responsible, dependable, self-reliant, and display initiative.
• Must be able to operate all vehicles used in the transportation of students.
• Be able to take direction and supervision.
• Experience with disabled pupils preferred.
• Sensitivity to the nature and needs of the disabled and their families.
• Required Criminal History background check and proof of U.S. Citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may deem appropriate.
