REPORTS TO: Cafeteria Manager

JOB GOAL: To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness and friendliness.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist in the preparation of food portions, prepare cafeteria counter and serve food in a quick and pleasant manner.
• Serve students and staff from the cafeteria counter.
• Remove used dishes and assist in the cleaning of counters, tables and furnishings in the dining area.
• Maintain the trash/garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
• Perform related duties during contract hours as required including duties at special meal functions.
• Maintain highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.
• Prepare food according to the planned menu.
• See that, during meal service periods, the supply of food offered is replenished regularly.
• Assist in the daily clean-up of the kitchen and service areas.
• Perform major cleaning of refrigerators and storerooms at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by the cafeteria manager.
• Assume responsibility for storage and disposal of unused foods.
• Serve each menu item with the correct utensil.
• Take food temperatures (on the serving line) to ensure food safety.
• Serve as cashier when needed.
• Be open and flexible to accept change in daily routine and special needs in the cafeteria.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Salary and work year established by School Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the School Boar’s policy on Evaluation of Non-Professional Personnel.
